Responsibility for trees comes with a duty of care to understand and manage any risks they may pose. It's something that needs to be handled sensibly and proactively.
Tree owners and managers must take reasonable and proportionate measures to manage risks from their trees, ensuring that foreseeable hazards are identified and addressed so that people are not exposed to avoidable harm.
Depending on your level of exposure, we offer different levels of service. You may own a single tree within falling distance of a busy road, or you may be responsible for large areas of land where a comprehensive Tree Risk Management Policy is essential.
All our service levels follow the Health and Safety Executive’s Plan–Do–Check–Act approach to effective tree-risk management. We also encourage clients to refer to the National Tree Safety Group (NTSG) guidance for sensible, proportionate tree-safety practice.
Once your report is complete, we recommend sharing it with your insurers — clear, documented risk management can sometimes help with premiums.
Under UK occupiers’ liability law, you are responsible for the safety of people on your land, including trespassers.
A comprehensive Tree Risk Management Policy is advised. We assess how your site is used and produce a Zoning Plan to guide decision-making. We then survey your trees to determine risk levels and provide a Tree Risk Management Report, supported by a Policy document outlining how your tree stock is managed now and in the future. A full, belt-and-braces approach.

Who? — Landowners or managers with moderate levels of public access.
If your trees have little or no public access, you may be able to inspect them yourself — provided you understand what a normal, healthy tree looks like. If you’re unsure or prefer professional support, we’re here to help.

After initial discussions, we help you understand your exposure. We carry out a desk study, then put feet on the ground to assess your trees and provide clear, proportionate recommendations.
